We had a great turn out yesterday in Oldcastle – over 40 people attended in person with 10 on the webinar. Many customers (old and new) and many prospective customers.
As a recap of the event we broke down the presentation into things that were common to all manufacturers then presented software and functionality that was specific to a given industry. Considering we were in Oldcastle we had many Mold-Makers come and therefore focused in on their industry.
1.Scheduling
- Your busy, you are throwing away money if you make your engineers work overtime or if you outsource
- If you understand your capacity you can leverage against your quotes (discount to draw in business)
- You need to be on-time.
2.Subcontracting
- You need an easy and efficient method
- Drag and drop from overloaded work centers to contractors
3.Quality
- Most systems don’t include quality
- Capture EDM or CMM data
- Capture who worked on what part of the job
4.Tryout/Mobile Change Orders
- Tryouts, change orders and estimates to complete are an important part of a mold shop
- Capturing pictures, signatures or reviewing contracts will make you money
5.Service
- 20% of your business is repairing molds and most systems don’t have this module
One of my favorite parts of the seminar was demonstrating Power BI powered by Cortana Analytics.
It can easily pull out and present information based on a natural query language. In this example we asked where the speakers were in the building…if only it could help find my car keys.
