Dynamics 365 Saturday is a free technical business strategic training event organized by Microsoft Community MVPs for CRM and ERP Professionals to learn and share new skills and best practices helping organizations overcome the challenges of implementing Dynamics 365.
After a big success last year, Dynamics 365 Saturday returned to Toronto for a second time on May 10th, 2019. This time it was on Friday so the full name of the event was “Dynamics 365 Saturday on Friday! Toronto 2019”. This is because there were additional events in Montreal on Saturday, and in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Two resources from VOX ISM attended this event, as they work towards their own MVP recognition.
Vish Walia, Customer Success Manage from Microsoft, in his keynote spoke about how to turn Dynamics implementations into success.
System usage by people | Expected from System |
System of record | System of intelligence |
Data silos in disparate systems | Data is king consolidate data to leverage AI, ML and BI |
Disconnected business and IT | Collaboration Business IT and End Users |
Lack of focus on the people side of change | Effective Adoption and Change Management |
After the keynote, there were many interesting sessions split into 3 tracks with the focus on sales, applications, and development.
Under Sales track, it is worth noting a session about Modern Selling Strategies for Dynamics 365 CE and LinkedIn by Rick McCutcheon and Dan Van Damme where benefits of LinkedIn Sales Navigator were explained along with the new features coming soon. Also, Julien Miquel led a session about how to use artificial intelligence with Dynamics AI for Sales to maximize business growth.
Under Applications track, Matt Masotti from Avanade presented a demo of Dynamics 365 Field Service and F&O integration using PowerApps. Also, there was a Power BI Workshop with Vivek Patel, and Creating first Powerapp with best practices by Jason Cosman.
Under the Development track, Nicholas Hayduk and Nick Doelman explained how to overcome Common Dynamics 365 Portal limitations using the custom server-side code.
Dynamics 365 Saturday Toronto (although on Friday) was a day filled with great sessions. We look forward for Toronto Saturday 2020!
