The new ‘Quick Entry’ feature will assist users to input data into NAV efficiently and effectively.  It works by users setting which field they want their cursor to appear in next when they press enter on their keyboard.

NAV 2013- Quick Entry

To demonstrate I have used the Sales Order entry screen, select the Microsoft Dynamics NAV icon at the top left hand corner>Customize>Customize This Page:Select FastTabs>Customize FastTab:

NAV 2013- Quick Entry 1

A new button called Quick Entry will appear:

NAV 2013-Quick Entry 2

Highlight each field and select which fields you personally want your cursor to stop in after entering data into a field.  A tick will appear in Quick Entry if selected.

The above has dealt with the Sales Order Header.  When the last field has been completed
on the header when pressing enter the cursor will appear in the first field you have selected as ‘Quick Entry’ on the lines.

To select which fields you want the cursor to appear in next on the Sales Order line right click on the sales order line fields>Choose Columns and you will see the new ‘Quick Entry’ button:

NAV 2013- Quick Entry 3

Select the fields you require for ‘Quick Entry’ for the sales order line.

N.B. This is user-defined.  A system administrator is able to change globally within the development environment if required to change for all users.

This new feature will assist with rapid data entry for Sales Invoices, Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices, Sales Credits and Purchase Credits.
